CASE STUDY
The challenge:
A CEO of a global organization is constantly on the move, flying around the world from one office to the other, but there are many people who always have important documents for him to sign. He often misses deadlines on crucial deals because he cannot access the necessary systems from outside his permanent place of work.
When he arrives at any one of his global offices he never has the time to find a PC due to his hectic schedule. Even if he could find a PC there is no guarantee of getting a successful logon or even if he can, he can’t be certain that he can gain access to the approval systems he needs.
There are many systems he requires access to but he cannot use them from any of his corporate or personal mobile devices because there is no secure access.
The purchase orders and legal documents that he needs to sign are vital to the bank’s strategic plans and the public’s perception of how the business operates.
The organisation’s IT group have not yet had the authority to put all the required security in place for mobile users. The organization is currently considering several secure application options but are not well informed enough to be able to decide which ones are the most suitable for the differing requirements of its global staff.
The solution:
What the CEO needs is an application that can be retrieved via a Secure Container which he can access using both his corporate and personal mobile devices. This would give the CEO a ‘one stop shop’ to allow him to perform just a single task which would transmit his approval automatically to all relevant organizational systems enabling his final authorization to be recognized and acted upon.
This process would give the CEO all the flexibility he needs to carry out these key tasks whilst he is on the move. Travelling in the back of his chauffer driven car or sitting in an airport lounge can be considered lost time with no access to the ‘desktop’ environment but with his desktop in his hands lost time is a thing of the past.
Most organisations do not have the breadth of skills to be able to agree on, and therefore, deploy the most suitable mobility strategy. It will require input from a third party to advise on best practices to enable a smooth and successful transition from legacy based desktops to the mobile app platform.
